Carshalton Park Grotto/Carshalton War Memorial Hospital - 15/03/2009

So its a Sunday and 'Mr Ant' is at work. 'Chops' (my daughter) has decided she wants to go out and have a picnic after watching Peppa Pig have one for the umpteenth time. It's a nice day and mummy thinks 'ahhh, theres a grotto at Carshalton Park' so we kill two birds with one stone and go for picnic and play on the swings and a nose at this historical site at the same time.

A short bus ride and a long walk later we find ourselves in Carshalton Park and are greeted by the odd landscape.



Have our picnic and then go for a wander. yes we will be going to the swings in a bit....mummy spots a building just outside the rear of the park with razor wire and thinks 'ahhhh, interesting'. We discover the Carshalton War Memorial Hospital.

No way in so point and click through the fence, well kept lawn so someones still taking care of the place, bulldozers next door.





So off we trot towards the kiddies playpark, but have one port of call before that. The Grotto.



Take my word for it, NEVER wheel a buggy down the embankment if you go here because it's a pain in the fucking arse to get it back out. Of course, me being me, didn't think of this. Piece of piss to get down there, PITA to get back out.
