Norwood Cemetery 23/11/10

So on one of the coldest days thus far me and my cousin head off with Boris to Norwood Cemetery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Norwood_Cemetery for the lowdown.

cant really say much about it other than it was effing freezing cold and the greek part [they had their own fenced off bit] felt rather creepy as opposed to the rest of it.

So enjoy some photos...

Sutton Cemetery 16/11/2010

Lovely crisp winters day and I have the urge to go out and do some photography. No car today and had young Boris with me so only real option was a cemetery and one close to Chops' school for picking up time.

So I called ahead beforehand to see if it was ok to go take photos in a local cemetery, permission granted provided I pop my head in the superintendants office to let him know I was there.

Colder than a witches tit out there today so we wrap up warm, arm ourselves with a bag of Haribo and head off to Sutton Cemetery.

The superintendent was a lovely guy, told me the history of the place [previous to a cemetery there was a gallows for public hanging by the main entrance] and about the woodpeckers pecking holes in the spire of the Chapel.

I love wandering round graveyards, there is an enormous sense of peace and tranquility but the graves of children always make me sad with their toys and windmills, birthday cards and birthday balloons. The saddest one I saw was that of the little girl who was murdered by our school caretaker when we were at primary school.

Not a lot I can say about the place except to share some photos...
